Quononoquott Garden Club Plants Daffodils

December 6th, 2016

The Quononoquott Garden Club in Jamestown wants to thank Project Daffodillion, the Newport Department of Public Services and the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority for their help in planting about 4,000 daffodil bulbs. The garden club purchased the bulbs through Project Daffodillion. A crew from the Newport Department of Public Services brought the bulb planting machine across the bridge to plant the daffodils at a location approved by the Turnpike and Bridge Authority.

The bed of daffodils along Cedar Cemetery’s white picket fence along Route 138 westbound will be enjoyed by everyone using the bridges. The Quonononquott Garden Club is grateful for the spirit of cooperation that made the planting possible.
