Francoise Weeks’ “European Floral Design Demonstration and Reception” Presented by RIFGC, Inc.

RIFGC, Inc. presents on November 14, 2018, a European Floral Design Demonstration and Reception at the Agawam Hunt, 15 Roger Williams Avenue, Rumford, RI 02916. The demonstration features Francoise Weeks, a world renowned floral designer, who has developed her singular style of Textural Woodlands and Botanical Haute Couture. Her dynamic work has been published in national and international publications, garnering her a global following. The demonstration begins at 2:00 pm, followed at 4:00 pm by a reception to meet Ms. Weeks. Tickets are $60.00 per person.

RIFGC Life Member Group Luncheon

May 18th, 2018

The RIFGC Life Member Group will hold its luncheon, annual meeting and scholarship awards on Thursday, July 26, 2018, 11:30 am, at the Dunes Club in Narragansett. This year’s speaker will be Dan Christina, Head Horticulturist for Green Animals Topiary Gardens. 

Tickets are $43.00 per person and open to everyone. Checks made payable to RIFGC-LMG may be sent to Sue Talbot, P.O. Box 28, Adamsville, RI 02801 by July 16.

“Springtime Floral Fusion” at the RI Home and Garden Show

The RI Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. will present an NGC Design Specialty Flower Show in conjunction with the Rhode Island Home Show 2018 at the Rhode Island Convention Center from Thursday, April 5, through Sunday, April 8, 2018. The show will consist of forty eight floral designs, educational displays (click here to view) and speakers on a variety of topics. RIFGC Life Member Group Luncheon

June 1st, 2017

The Life Member Group of the RIFGC held its summer meeting and luncheon on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at The Dunes Club, 137 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett, RI, at 11:30 am. Three of our talented floral designers presented “Design Challenge, Part II”, a program highlighting each designer’s innovative use of the same materials. The cost was $40.00 per person and open to everyone.

First Annual Meeting of the New England Garden Clubs, Inc. and 45th NGC Symposium

April 19th, 2017

The New England Garden Clubs, Inc. will hold its First Annual Meeting at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick, RI on October 30 and 31, 2017. That meeting will be immediately followed by the 45th National Garden Clubs, Inc. Symposium from October 31 to November 2, 2017.

Natasha Lisitsa & Daniel Schultz Presented by RIFGC, Inc. Judges’ Council

The RIFGC Judges’ Council presented the first Ruth Anderson Series program on Thursday, June 15, 2017. The speakers were the widely acclaimed Natasha Lisitsa and Daniel Schultz. The presentation was one and a half to two hours of spectacular floral designs. Seating was limited. Tickets were $20.00.

Rehoboth Garden Club Scholarship Winner Announced

January 28th, 2017

The 2016 winner of the Rehoboth Garden Club Scholarship is Elizabeth Oakley. Ms. Oakley, who is a junior at Colby College in Maine, is majoring in biology and religious studies. Presenting her with a $1,000 check are Pat Knowles, who chairs the Scholarship Committee, and Mary Louise Pacheco, the club’s Co-President. The club’s annual May plant sale is the major fundraiser that supports their scholarship program. Students from Rehoboth and the surrounding communities who are majoring in the natural sciences and related fields are eligible to apply for the annual award.
